Naturally, the development of computer technologies inevitably leads to an increased load on engineering solutions used in buildings. After all, often, with a large number of computers, printers, scanners, copying equipment and wires connecting them, it is necessary to ensure normal working conditions and preserve the integrity of the interior.
How to hide all communications and ensure full access to them when necessary? The solution to this problem is the installation and use of a raised floor, which essentially looks like a double floor. Thanks to the new floor covering technology, it has become possible to easily place various communications between the concrete floor and the raised floor panels. These can be electrical systems and communication systems, water supply and sewerage, heating, etc.
The modular structure of the raised floor makes it easy to assemble and disassemble, thereby providing access to all engineering systems inside. This allows additional cable to be laid under the raised floor without much trouble and at low cost. In addition, the free space between the base and the raised floor can be used for ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Easy to assemble, raised floor is easy to dismantle when moving. Its thermal and sound insulation characteristics fully comply with accepted fire safety standards. It is also pleasing that the raised floor can be easily installed on any surfaces – no preliminary leveling or concreting is required.
A raised floor for a server room must have certain characteristics regarding electrical conductivity and antistatic protection. It is no secret that computer equipment accumulates large amounts of static electricity during operation, so a raised floor for rooms with computers is selected taking into account its ability to dissipate static electricity. For these purposes, manufacturers offer a whole range of options for organizing a raised floor, using which the desired result is achieved:
– the possibility of using a raised floor with an antistatic coating, since it consists of a chipboard panel with aluminum foil or a steel plate underneath. The coating here is homogeneous antistatic linoleum;
– a calcium sulfate-based raised floor with a steel plate at the bottom and antistatic linoleum – an equally suitable option for server rooms, because such a raised floor has increased load-bearing capacity;
– electrically conductive raised floors are made on the basis of a chipboard panel with a steel plate at the bottom, plus additional side electrically conductive graphite cladding. If the server room requires installation of heavy equipment, the raised floor system is made using special crossbeams, which greatly facilitates the installation process.
