Even embassies can be fake

The fake U.S. embassy in Ghana operated in this building for 10 years

According to the statement, the building of the fake diplomatic mission had an American state flag installed. Inside hung a photograph of the current U.S. President Barack Obama, and the staff were members of criminal groups from Turkey and Ghana. Visitors were issued identity documents, U.S. passports, and visas.

It is noted that the work of the "embassy" was ensured through bribes to local officials, who were also provided with blank legal documents. The fraud was discovered during Operation Spartan Vanguard, conducted by diplomatic security agents at the real U.S. embassy in Ghana to address human trafficking and document fraud.

During the investigation, several employees of the fake diplomatic mission were arrested. They had 150 passports and many both fake and real visas from South Africa, the European Union, India, and the United States seized.
