Euro ticket should be clear

The reason for introducing new rules for advertising airline services has been the recent widespread messages that mislead customers with non-existent advantages. The fact is that many airlines in their flight advertisements deliberately do not indicate additional payments, including taxes, airport fees, and fuel surcharges. As a result, the final price turns out to be significantly higher than initially stated, which misleads consumers and nullifies any attempt to compare different offers.

Vice-President of the European Commission Jacques Barrot stated that the liberalization of the air services market has been a real success, leading to an increase in diversity and opportunities in the aviation sector, accompanied by a significant reduction in prices.

The new European Commission initiative should thus guarantee greater transparency for buyers, provide consumers with access to truthful and clear information, and significantly contribute to the development of competition in the sector.

It is expected that in the future, buyers will be provided with the most objective information about a particular flight, indicating all necessary payments, so as to allow them to compare different offers and choose the most suitable one.

The developed draft law must then be submitted to the transport ministers of European states for consideration, and also be agreed upon in the European Parliament.
