Any construction begins with laying the foundation, or more precisely, with choosing its type. For a long time, the cheapest and simplest to execute was considered a columnar foundation. It is suitable for houses made of timber, log cabins, or frame houses. A more common variant of a columnar foundation is concrete or rubble-concrete columns. A trench is dug or drilled under each column. The columns are placed at a distance of 1-2 meters from each other, along the perimeter of the building and under all load-bearing walls. The depth of the trench and the exact distance between the columns are determined individually. The column heads can be connected to each other by a grillage, which allows for more even load distribution.<\/p>
