According to sociologist Yevgeny Kopatko of R&B Group, among the reasons why Ukrainians are ready to leave the country, family circumstances, lucrative job offers, the economic situation in Ukraine, and political instability prevail. He noted that respondents who would like to leave the country forever prefer to go mainly to Russia, Germany, or the United States.
At the same time, 36% of respondents generally rate their life in Ukraine as comfortable, 31% consider their life in Ukraine uncomfortable, and 32% rate it as both comfortable and uncomfortable. 70% of respondents believe that Ukraine's economic situation is generally bad, and 5% consider the country's economic situation good. In addition, 56% of respondents are generally dissatisfied with the life they lead, and 41% are generally satisfied with their life.
As Interfax-Ukraine reports, the survey was conducted from May 16 to May 26, 2008, using personal interviews in 24 regions of Ukraine and Crimea. A total of 2,000 people were surveyed. The expected average sampling error is ±2.2%.
