Presented on the company's website, modern electronic automobile scales are used in production to determine the weight of cargo without removing it from the vehicle. Knowing the weight of an empty vehicle, one can easily calculate the weight of the cargo.
Today it is difficult to imagine a large construction organization, agriculture, production, or trade without the use of automobile scales. They greatly facilitate the process of counting sold goods. Among other things, portable scales can be used to control the pressure of vehicle traffic on the road surface in order to determine the degree of its wear.
Design and operation
Portable automobile scales consist of two platforms for axle-by-axle weighing of vehicles. The entire structure is located in a special niche of the foundation or above it. The weight of a vehicle with cargo is determined while it moves over the platforms without stopping. The final weighing result is determined by summing the weight of all axles of the vehicle. Several such units can be used to simultaneously determine the weight of the entire vehicle.
All results can be saved and processed on a computer to which the device is connected. Special application software is used to work with it, which allows automatic calculations, preparation and printing of report forms, and creation of specialized databases. All this greatly simplifies the accounting of any cargo.
The website presents several models of automobile scales from the Korean company CAS with a maximum axle load of 10 and 15 tons. They differ somewhat from another model of the Ukrainian manufacturer AXIS, also presented on the site. The latter are equipped with four load cells and are designed for weighing vehicles with a distance between axles of up to 6 meters. These include GAZ, ZIL, KAMAZ, and other vehicles.
So, as we have seen, portable automobile scales are a progressive solution for many areas of economy and trade where various cargo transportation is carried out.
