Today, cars from the USA can be bought cheaper than the market. It is enough to consider a few restrictions to make the purchase a pleasant addition to your fleet.
Almost three-quarters of cars from the USA are under warranty
A bold statement, especially since outside the US, it is not possible to take advantage of manufacturers' warranty obligations. However, dry statistics are relentless: ever newer used cars are arriving in Ukraine: Real mileage in 2019 decreased to 120–160 thousand km; The overall price reduction of the initial purchase, adjusted for inflation, is minus 18%; The cost of ownership decreased by 8%; The average cost of repairs (spare parts, consumables, etc.) decreased by almost 20%; The number of branded cars from the USA is steadily growing.
Some media outlets claim this is related to climate perturbations, typhoons, tornadoes, and other cataclysms. However, auto market experts note other trends, among which the high cost of insurance and service maintenance is not the least.
In Russia, there is a recycling program under which a vehicle that is still ready to serve its owner goes under the press. Mad wastefulness from the point of view of ecology, resource conservation, and common sense. In the US, the approach is much more practical: if a vehicle becomes more expensive to operate, it makes sense to repair (refine, tune, upgrade) and exchange the old car for bonuses towards the purchase of a new one.
Rusty cars from the USA will not come to Ukraine
The myth that 100% of American cars arriving in Europe are 'flooded' is nothing more than a legend. In reality, there are strict regulations, standards, and norms according to which the 'seller' must perform several 'squats': Start the car, demonstrating the operation of all onboard systems; Convince specialists by demonstrating the performance levels of critically important systems; Present an inspection report of safety systems (airbags, ABS, etc.); Pass two stages of technical expertise.
Only after passing these stages can cars from the USA be sold in European countries. Admit it, we do not yet have such filters. There is an understanding: the price of a good car does not depend on logistics; the approximate cost of delivering an expensive SUV is no more than 230 dollars.
At the same time, it is known for sure that this is not recycling by Russian standards, where overfed officials are ready to put any vehicle under the press. For Ukrainians, this is an opportunity to buy a car that, in terms of comfort, convenience, and maintainability, will be a good choice. Especially if it is a pickup truck.
It is unknown what Europeans think about pickup trucks; some regions of Ukraine are much larger in terms of territory. More important is how much you can save by buying not Russian junk, but reliable American cars that can work. Especially in a situation where buyers are ready to pay extra for the purchase.
