The city of Vladimir is one of the historical gems included in the Golden Ring of Russia
But Vladimir is truly famous for its unique historical monuments, true masterpieces of architecture, and a vast collection of genuine antiquity. Information on how to call Vladimir can be found in the phone codes of Russia directory.
When approaching the Trading Rows of Vladimir, tourists see the Golden Gate, through which the Vladimir squads set off on military feats and were met upon return from campaigns, and foreign ambassadors and honored guests were received. Through these gates passed the ceremonial entry for the grand reign of Dmitry Donskoy and Alexander Nevsky.
The next delightful structure of ancient Russian architecture, built in 1158-1160 by Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky, is the Dormition Cathedral. In 1185, the cathedral was badly damaged in a fire. After restoration, side galleries were added and the altar space was expanded. This cathedral houses the largest number of frescoes by Andrei Rublev, who painted in it in 1408. Originally, this cathedral was conceived as the first cathedral church of all Rus'.
Next to the Dormition Cathedral is the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius, erected in 1194-1197 by Prince Vsevolod the Third in honor of his patron saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki and in honor of the birth of his son Dmitry.
Prince Vsevolod the Third founded the Nativity Monastery in 1191, where Prince Alexander Nevsky was buried; his remains were moved to the city of St. Petersburg in 1723.
At the beginning of the 13th century, the wife of Vladimir Prince Vsevolod III, Princess Maria Shvarnovna, founded a monastery originally intended as a burial vault for princesses of the Vladimir line. It contained the graves of the wife and daughter of Alexander Nevsky, the daughter of Prince Vsevolod III Elena, Maria Shvarnovna and her daughter Anna. The monastery is thus called the Princess Convent.

The Dormition (Theotokos) Church, erected in 1644-1649 with funds from merchants Denisov and Somov, the St. George Church (1784-1786).
The Church of the Savior, the Church of the Ascension, the Church of the Archangel Michael, the Nicholas Galey Church, the Prince Vladimir Church, the Constantine and Helen Church, the Michael the Archangel Church, the Sretenskaya Church, the Church of the Holy Trinity, the Kazan Church. The very names of the churches carry enormous historical information, connecting us with the historical past of our people.
