In childhood, a child learns about the world through games; by winning or prevailing, he asserts himself and continues his self-improvement so as not to lose the position of leader, the position of winner, which since ancient times has given a person certain advantages.
The essence of any game lies in executing a sequence of moves with hidden motives, which should lead the player to victory and serve as a trap for the opponent. The simplest example: approached a slot machine, inserted a token, and pulled the handle – the winner gets, the loser loses.
Game and Excitement
History knows many passionate gamblers – for example, Krylov, having received a five-year advance from Catherine II, lost it at cards. Dostoevsky could only work after losing all his money, and only under the threat of hunger did he overcome his gambling passion. Pushkin was also a passionate gambler, leaving behind many card debts after his tragic death.
The line from the film "The Run" by Ulyanov: "But you are passionate, Paramosha!!!" became famous. Excitement itself is little studied; it is believed to be based on the ancient instinct of self-preservation – the strongest survives. To find out who is the strongest, some competitions are needed, and at the service of modern man today are numerous poker rooms, casinos, stadiums, television games.
A passionate gambler is easily drawn into the game; he experiences excitement, becomes a kind of addict. Gambling can be pathological if associated with games of chance, especially for money, but if a person experiences excitement in the process of creativity, he often achieves significant success.
Almost always, a passionate gambler is aware of his addiction to the game, but it is quite difficult to get out of it. In the case of pathological gambling, the player lives for the game, far from the boredom and routine of real life; his desire to win at any cost is irresistible.
But still, a person plays all his life, and in the process of this game he develops creatively and professionally; numerous losses in every person's life teach him to win, he gains life experience.
