Housing by the Sea: Bulgaria and Greece Gain Popularity

Real estate by the sea is not only a healing climate and enchanting nature, but also profitable investments

Residents of the sea coast have always been distinguished by their advantageous position. Most of them manage to live all year on the money earned during the resort season. Ukrainians, as a rule, are interested in inexpensive beach tourism destinations. The situation with real estate is similar – when buying housing by the sea, today our compatriots are increasingly focusing on countries such as Greece and Bulgaria.

Prices for real estate in Greece have been falling since 2008, and they are distributed evenly across islands and cities. The average cost per square meter is about 600 euros. If you buy a house worth more than 250 thousand euros here, you can get a residence permit in the European Union, which is very attractive to foreign investors.

This country is interesting and romantic, its ancient history is familiar to everyone. The Greek coast of the Aegean Sea is in high demand due to its unique landscapes, healthy and tasty cuisine, and rich culture. Probably many have heard that the mentality of the Greeks is very close to the Ukrainian one, and this is true. In the ethnic composition of Greece's residents, representatives of our nationality rank fifth in number.

Having some of the most affordable real estate prices in Europe, Bulgaria also actively attracts buyers. This is the second mass beach vacation destination among Ukrainians after Turkey. The process of buying and selling homes here does not stand still due to the country's sustainable development. Therefore, purchasing housing at Bulgarian resorts is a good far-sighted investment. An apartment by the sea, for example, on the Sunny Beach, costs on average about 30 thousand euros.

Bulgaria has something to boast about – the mountainous terrain of the Balkan Peninsula is very beautiful. There are many natural parks, cultural centers, and coastal cities. The Black Sea coastline is about 400 kilometers long. But besides sea resorts, there are also world-famous balneological and ski resorts. This ensures a year-round flow of tourists, which positively affects the country's economy.

Both Greece and Bulgaria have much in common. They have a mild healing climate and charming nature, and are famous for their safety for life. A large percentage of the population in Bulgaria knows Russian, and in Greece – English. It is worth noting that both peoples are good-natured and friendly.

Affordable housing prices in both countries attract more and more buyers each year thanks to their rapid development. As experts from the company BolgHome note, this is a reliable investment that pays off within a few years. Therefore, if you want to become the owner of an apartment at a resort in a developed European country in the future, you should pay attention to Greece and Bulgaria.
