Zanzibar – Pearl of the Indian Ocean

The beaches of Zanzibar Island are washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean

How to get to the paradise island

The most pressing question for travelers, since it cannot be done without transfers. So, a flight to the United Arab Emirates, upon arrival in Dubai you need to head from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar Island (which will take 15 minutes on a mini-plane, popularly called a "field" plane). By booking tours to Zanzibar from Moscow, tourists can count on guaranteed booking of all flights and accommodation in one of the many hotels on the island.

What to see on and near the island

Relaxation on pristine beaches, exciting diving, and rich fishing – that's all clear. And what can you recommend to a tourist tired of beach holidays? Of course, the most interesting excursions.

First of all, you need to visit the Jozani forest area. Currently, this is one of the natural areas untouched by humanity, existing in its pristine and purest form. Probably that's why Jozani Forest, located on the main island of the archipelago, is also called the fairy-tale forest.

Also exciting will be a trip to the Mangapwani caves – the burial place of many underground workers and the involuntarily convicted. And in Stone Town, the oldest part of the capital of Unguja Island, you can visit the Anglican Church. This building, where Gothic and Oriental styles intertwine, represents a single religious object, entry to which is allowed to representatives of all religions. Also, do not forget to go to the coral island of Pemba – a place for those who love all kinds of spicy spices and excellent fishing. There you will find a wonderful underwater world – at least divers are very satisfied and return here again and again.

Since the archipelago of 75 islands stretches along the eastern coast of Africa (directly opposite Tanzania), tourists can also book an excursion from Zanzibar to Kilimanjaro. This "shining mountain" is located on the high African plateau. There is also an offer for those who are unable to conquer the summit – you can enjoy the natural wonders and observe animals in the Serengeti National Park. Or use easy routes without any insurance – Rongai, Machame, and Marangu.

Dodoma – the capital of Tanzania and at the same time a reflection of human zeal despite all stereotypes (especially during the war). Later it was a closed elite residential complex, but some time ago it became an ordinary but very nice town with a stable wine-making industry.

Ruaha – the most interesting and exciting safari reserve for studying the habits of those animals that you cannot bring home. A good period for excursion trips will be from May until winter (the entrance fee is valid for 24 hours). Another reserve that appeared after a volcanic eruption is Ngorongoro. This huge crater on the edge of the Serengeti savannah will be interesting for flora and fauna lovers.
