A trip abroad in your own car has both its pros and cons

Among the obvious disadvantages of traveling by car, first of all, it is necessary to highlight that for the driver it will hardly be a full-fledged rest. Indeed, a person behind the wheel will be constantly tense watching the road. In an unfamiliar country, it is even more difficult.
In addition to the car itself being kept in perfect condition, to travel abroad it is necessary to have compulsory civil liability insurance. Compulsory insurance, better known among motorists as the 'green card', can be obtained while still in the country of departure – the policy is usually sold by local insurance companies.
A traffic accident on the territory of a foreign country is one of the most unpleasant things that can happen to a traveler, and it is another obvious disadvantage of traveling abroad by car. Of course, if we are talking about a trip to a nearby country to the nearest large city, then it is most convenient to go by car. This is what residents of the Northwestern region of the Russian Federation do, for example, when going to neighboring Finland for the weekend.
