Work and Travel is not only work but also leisure
In the summer, every student inevitably wonders what to do: relax or earn some money. Various resorts and recreation centers offer excellent leisure. But many prefer interesting work to entertainment.
The Work and Travel USA program for foreign students gives them a great chance to visit another country, see an unfamiliar culture, better learn the language, and, of course, earn money. Usually the period of stay in the USA is 4 months. Full-time university students with knowledge of English are eligible to participate.
For relaxation in Russia, you can choose a sanatorium, but wouldn't it be better to work and see other countries, learn some new profession? For example, under the Work and Travel program, students work as waiters, ride operators, salespeople, ticket attendants in states such as Florida, California, Virginia, New Jersey, Texas, Colorado, and many others. Payment is usually made weekly and amounts to $6,5–13$ per hour. Moreover, there is an opportunity to work overtime. The student chooses the departure dates themselves, because usually the busiest time for departure to the USA is June and May, when exams are in session. After the contract ends, the student can travel around America for another four weeks.
The Work and Travel USA program can have various options. The program with independent job search assumes that the student finds a job themselves, for example, via the Internet. Here one must be very careful and not contact unverified intermediaries who supposedly arrange with an employer in the USA but offer to sign a fake contract. Otherwise, you may find yourself in an unpleasant situation in a foreign country.
There is also the Work and Travel USA program where a Russian company provides the job. The participant only needs to write their resume in English and pay the company for services. There is also the Work and Travel USA program where an American sponsor provides the job. In addition to the resume and payment for services, the participant must have a telephone interview with the employer. Although this option is expensive and requires a high level of English, it is beneficial because the pay will be $10–13$ per hour.
