According to the publication, any resident of a country outside the European Union, when applying for a student or work visa in the United Kingdom, will have to pay about 50 pounds sterling.
This money, collected in addition to the consular fee, is planned to be transferred to local budgets to cover the costs of schools, hospitals, police and other public institutions that serve foreigners.
The authorities hope that the new tax will allow the UK state budget to be replenished by 70 million pounds sterling within the next two years.
