The awarding of the laureates of one of the most prestigious awards in the travel and leisure industry took place on December 2 on the Turks and Caicos Islands. According to TourGenius.ru, the winners were determined by a vote in which 167,000 tourism professionals from around the world participated.
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) became the best tourist destination and the world's leading cruise port according to the annual World Travel Awards ceremony. The Dubai hotel Burj Al Arab became the leading one in the category of hotel complexes offering only suites (luxury rooms).
Among airlines, Singapore Airlines was recognized as the best carrier. And Qatar Airways received recognition in the 'business class airline' category. Etihad Airways became the best first-class air carrier, and in the low-cost airline category, the German Air Berlin won.
Royal Caribbean again was among the leading cruise operators. And the most reliable railway company was named by experts as Eurostar.
Awards also did not bypass the category of beach resorts. The Turks and Caicos Islands were awarded a prize for their beautifully equipped and cozy coastline. However, the best in the mentioned category were not them, but the Maldivian resort Conrad Maldives Rangali.
