The Question of Temporary Housing in a Foreign City

The Question of Temporary Housing in a Foreign City

Moscow today receives and sends off thousands, tens of thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of guests daily

But if a hotel or inn is an essential attribute of practically any city in Russia, then what can be said about its largest city, the capital, a true megacity – Moscow!

Today the capital receives and sends off thousands, tens of thousands, and even hundreds of thousands of guests daily. And of course, such a popular city among politicians, businessmen, and ordinary tourists cannot do without hotels. It cannot, and it does not! Today, more than three hundred Moscow hotels open their doors to their guests.

How many "stars" are just right?

Hotels in Moscow are not only five-star, neon-lit hotels in the city center that can be seen on postcards and photographs. They are also small, homey, comfortable and cozy hotels on the outskirts of the city. And the variety of establishments of this type implies different classes of customer service and, of course, different price levels.

By resorting to the services of Moscow hotels, clients can stay either in the center of Moscow for several weeks or even months, or use the services of small private hotels for an hour, in the so-called "bedroom" districts of the capital.

The most expensive hotels in Moscow are primarily five-star hotels. Functional, comfortable and luxuriously furnished rooms, a long list of additional services such as a solarium, massage salon, beauty salon, hairdresser, or swimming pool, billiard room, bowling alley, restaurant, etc., as well as European-level service, turn a stay in such a hotel into a comfortable and pleasant vacation. But it should be remembered that five-star hotels in Moscow also have an appropriate pricing policy.

Next are four-star hotels in Moscow. As a rule, such hotels are not inferior in terms of service and comfort to 5-star hotels, but at the same time can offer their clients more acceptable prices for rooms.

And finally, 3-star hotels. They are usually limited in the range of entertainment services and far from always can boast anything more than an on-site bar or sauna, but are more pragmatic in terms of "price-quality" and are an excellent option for guests looking to cut their accommodation costs.

What is better – a large hotel or a small one?

Modern Moscow hotels can have both a large number of rooms of various classes (more than a hundred) and provide guests with just a few rooms.

When setting off on a trip to a foreign city, it should be remembered that one of the most pressing issues will be the question of temporary housing. And if in that city there are no relatives or close friends, and you don't recall any old acquaintances moving there, then the simplest option would be hotels or inns. But which to prefer: a huge hotel or a small private hotel?

If you have come to the capital on business, and time, as they say, is constantly pressing, and if you have the appropriate amount of money, then it is better to choose a large hotel in the city center. Such a hotel will provide everything needed to save your personal time: the hotel restaurant will save you from walking around the city looking for a place to grab a bite, wireless Internet will allow you to work on your laptop without leaving the room at any time of day, etc.

However, not everyone likes even luxurious but excessively large hotels. For example, for a person who greatly values peace and solitude, a significant number of people, long corridors on each floor of the hotel, constant waiting for the elevator, and so on can be more than an irritating factor. In this case, mini-hotels and inns in Moscow are just the thing. A small number of rooms, a homey atmosphere, and individual attention from the staff to every question or request will make your stay at the hotel truly comfortable.

Well, and of course, the choice of a particular hotel is largely influenced by the planned length of stay. If you have come to the capital for a long time, it is better to approach the choice of hotel thoroughly. But if you only need a hotel for an hour, you can use the offer of the nearest hotel.

And even better – choose a particular hotel and book rooms in it before you leave the walls of your home.

Booking Rooms

Regardless of whether you need a hotel for an hour or you want to rent a room in a hotel for a couple of weeks, it is better to approach this issue in advance and use the room booking service.

Why is booking necessary?

One of the main advantages of booking is that you are guaranteed to check into a room upon arrival, rather than facing the fact of having to look for "some other hotel" late in the evening with a heavy bag in your hands. Moreover, it is far from certain that "some other hotel" will gladly welcome you with open arms, because all rooms there may also be taken in advance.

Today, booking rooms is possible:
- by phone call;
- via the Internet on the hotel's website (if it exists, of course);
- directly at the administrator's desk;
- through specialized firms offering intermediary booking services.

In order to book a room, you need to tell the administrator the check-in date, the planned length of stay, and your surname. And you no longer have to worry that the sign “no vacancies” shines specifically for you.
