The minister emphasized that tourist and transport companies are obliged to comply with all necessary instructions and safety rules when transporting tourists, in order to avoid sanctions, up to revocation of license. Al-Beltagy decided to suspend for three months the activities of the company whose bus overturned on October 27 while traveling from Cairo to Hurghada. Six Polish tourists and an Egyptian driver died then. A warning was also issued to the company whose fault caused a traffic accident on November 6, which resulted in injuries to 37 Japanese.
Road accidents, unfortunately, are a very frequent phenomenon in Egypt. Local drivers neglect traffic rules and exceed the speed limit.
