US visas for Ukrainians to rise in price by $8 for courier delivery

As Interfax-Ukraine reports, courier delivery will be carried out by FedEx. Under a contract concluded between the consular section and FedEx, passports with visas will be delivered to most regions of Ukraine within 24-48 hours.

Users of the service must pay $8 for delivery and insurance. This service is not mandatory until August 29, 2003, inclusive. Starting September 2, 2003, everyone who is issued a US visa will have to use this service. Persons who are granted a US visa will not be able to receive their passports with visas on the day of the interview.

Starting September 2, all visa recipients should be prepared to pay $8 after the interview. When planning a trip to the United States, one should also keep in mind the estimated delivery time of the passport with the visa by FedEx courier service.

Visa processing now takes longer, due to new requirements. The American Embassy hopes that this service, which has been successfully implemented and is in operation in US consular sections in many countries around the world, will make it possible to work efficiently and reduce the time for receiving passports with visas.
