The U.S. Department will soon begin sending notifications to winners of the 2009 Diversity Visa Lottery.
The U.S. Embassy urges winners not to allow anyone to interfere with the Diversity Visa Lottery process. The Embassy is aware of companies and individuals who try to take money from visa applicants or force them into fraudulent acts, such as sham marriages, in order to obtain visas for third parties.
Remember: The Embassy never requires agency involvement in filling out the Green Card application. Participation in the Diversity Visa Lottery is always free.
In any case, it is better to deal directly with the Embassy rather than turn to intermediaries. Applying through an agency that falsifies your data or encourages providing false information about yourself or your marital status may permanently deprive you of the right to obtain any U.S. visa.
Even if you submitted documents through an agency, you can exclude that agency from the process by asking the U.S. Government to send documents directly to your address. Contact the U.S. Department of State's Kentucky Consular Center to change the delivery address or order a duplicate set of documents. You can send a letter:

In addition, many agencies place advertisements in local newspapers offering employment in the United States. These agencies often convince people to pay large sums of money for non-existent job offers. Many Ukrainian citizens have lost money due to such offers. If an employment agency tells you that you need a B1/B2 visa to obtain employment in the United States, they are providing false information. Employment while in the United States on a tourist visa is a serious violation of U.S. law and may lead to undesirable consequences.
