London cabs are the best taxis in the world
Hotels.com has published a ranking of cities with the best taxis, based on a survey of European tourists. According to Gzt.ru, in the course of the study, the site asked about 1,400 travelers to evaluate taxis in different cities based on criteria such as cost, availability, safety, cleanliness, driver friendliness, driving skills, and knowledge of the city. It should be noted that our country still lags behind in tourist appeal, so you will not find reviews of Kiev taxis in the survey results.
Taxis, as a rule, are the first thing travelers encounter upon arriving in a new city. The survey results showed that the vast majority (69%) of tourists use taxis to get from the airport to the hotel. Only 16% of travelers use trains.
The best taxis in the world drive on the streets of London. That's what 33% of respondents think. Black London cabs outranked the famous New York yellow cabs, which received 17% of the votes. The top three cities with the best taxis also includes Berlin, which was voted for by 6% of travelers.
To the surprise of the study organizers, Bangkok, known for its 'tuk-tuk' taxis, made it into the top ten cities. A 'tuk-tuk' is a scooter with a trailer that has a seat for two or three people. Bangkok's tuk-tuks outperformed taxi services from European capitals such as Dublin and Paris.

Hotels.com also asked users to rate the politeness of taxi drivers in different countries. According to the survey results, London taxi drivers were recognized as the most friendly. They received votes from 16% of respondents. In second place for friendliness were taxi drivers from Dublin (11%).
However, the rudest taxi drivers, according to travelers, are on the streets of Paris. 16% of respondents say that Parisian taxi drivers never smile. Additionally, it is in Paris that it is hardest to catch a taxi: to get a cab, you have to stand in line.
London cab drivers are better at navigating the city than taxi drivers from other metropolises. That is the opinion of a third of respondents (33%). In second place for knowledge of their own city were New York taxi drivers (11%). At the same time, New York taxi drivers were named the worst drivers.
The safest taxis also travel on the streets of London, according to 25% of travelers. In second place for taxi safety, they ranked Oslo (8%), and third place went to Stockholm (7%).
London taxi drivers were recognized as the best in several categories. However, respondents found one drawback. In the British capital, according to 21% of those surveyed, taxis are the most expensive. In terms of taxi cost, London left behind Copenhagen (9%) and Paris (8%).
