The capital's authorities made the corresponding decision last week. They emphasize that the introduced restrictions should be interpreted not as an attempt to fight smokers, but as a desire to protect 70% of the country's non-smoking population and as a step bringing Poland closer to the European standards of anti-smoking policy in effect in many EU countries, Podroze.onet.pl reports.
As Travel.ru reports, in June the law banning smoking at public transport stops was also adopted by the authorities of the Polish city of Bialystok. Similar rules are in effect in Rzeszow, Poznan, Torun, Gdansk, Bydgoszcz and Olsztyn.
