The hotel is located in the small town of Sevelen near the border with Liechtenstein. A former military bunker, built to protect the population during a nuclear war and practically unused, was converted into the new hotel. Over all the years of its existence, army exercises were held here only a few times.
Artists and designers worked on turning the military facility into a cozy accommodation place, writes USA Today. For example, instead of a public bath, a romantic fountain with flowers floating in it appeared, and images from the surface are broadcast onto special screens in this underground building, which has no windows. At the same time, as local authorities emphasize, if necessary, the hotel can be turned back into a real bunker within 24 hours.
According to Travel.ru, as part of testing, the hotel has already received its first guests, but will be closed at least until November. This original and cheap accommodation place in Switzerland will start operating only after the project is approved by the city authorities, who will allocate the necessary budget. However, the administration of the "zero-star" hotel has no doubt about success: in its opinion, tourists will be attracted by both low prices and the very unusualness of such a hotel.
