New Traffic Rules Adopted in Slovakia

The most heated discussion was caused by a paragraph banning pedestrians from using mobile phones and players while crossing ground-level crossings. According to Travel.ru, until now in Slovakia, fines for using these devices were only imposed on drivers. Now pedestrians will also have to pay several dozen euros for violating the rule.

The new rules provide for fines for cyclists riding without helmets - both within city limits and on suburban roads, writes Podroze.onet.pl.

Motorists will also have a hard time. However, from October 1, they will be allowed to have one mug of beer during the day. In addition, they will be allowed to drive up to 130 km/h on highways. However, in populated areas, the speed limit will be 50 km/h. The new rules also require the use of daytime running lights around the clock, regardless of the season.
