According to the FMS, the number of registered migrants increased by 20% compared to the previous year. About a million people have already received work permits. In 2007, 2.5 million foreigners worked legally.
The head of the FMS believes that the success in legalizing labor migrants has largely become possible due to changes in migration legislation.
