Lviv railway station
As reported by Polskie Radio, the first train departed on the new route on December 23. The train left Kyiv at 6:45 a.m. and arrived in Przemyśl at 1:25 p.m.
Pole Wojciech Balczun, who heads Ukrzaliznytsia, notes that the trip on the new route will be comfortable: "These are fast, high-class trains. We have trainsets made by the Korean company Hyundai and Ukrainian 'Tarpans', which are not inferior to European Intercity trains."
It is planned that the train will run daily and cover the distance from Kyiv to Przemyśl in 7 hours 40 minutes, and back in 7 hours 07 minutes. It will depart from Kyiv-Pasazhyrskyi station at 6:45 a.m. and arrive in Przemyśl at 1:25 p.m. The train will stop at Sviatoshyn, Korosten, Pidzamche, and Lviv stations. Departure from Przemyśl is at 2:26 p.m., arrival in Kyiv at 10:33 p.m. Passport control will be carried out while the train is moving, which will speed up border crossing time.
The cost of a first-class ticket on the Kyiv–Przemyśl route is 547 hryvnias (or 92 zlotys, i.e., about 21 euros). A second-class ticket costs 406 hryvnias, i.e., about 62 zlotys or 14 euros. Tickets can be purchased exclusively at the international ticket office at the station. On the Ukrzaliznytsia website, ticket sales for this train will not be carried out.
Note that Ukrzaliznytsia also plans to launch a Mukachevo–Budapest train in the near future.
