France introduces form for leaving home

As RFI notes, the day before, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that from noon on March 17, France would introduce restrictions on movement for at least 15 days. Violators will be punished, Macron said.

Later, the Interior Ministry announced the mobilization of one hundred thousand police officers and gendarmes to monitor the validity of citizens' movements. Violation of quarantine restrictions carries a fine of 38 euros. In the near future, it will be increased to 135 euros.

Everyone who decides to leave home must carry a special document in which they must write their first and last name, date of birth and address. Then, on their honor, they must choose one of the reasons for movement. There are five possible reasons:

1. Going to work if working from home is impossible. You must also have a document confirming that working from home is impossible. Also, work-related movements that cannot be postponed.

2. Movements to purchase essential goods at authorized points of sale.

3. Visits to the doctor.

4. Urgent family matters: helping vulnerable people and caring for children.

5. Short movements close to home, "related to personal physical activity," but excluding any gatherings and meetings; walking pets.

Movement restrictions will not apply to certain professions: doctors, other healthcare workers, journalists, etc. They must carry a professional card.
