The implementation of migration policy is entrusted to the Department of Migration, which is vested with the functions of coordinating and regulating migration processes, interacting with other state bodies, trade unions, and non-governmental organizations. The law stipulates that citizens of Moldova have the right to choose their place of residence and employment outside the country in accordance with current legislation. The free exit of citizens from the state cannot be restricted, except in cases stipulated by law.
