Opening the presentation ceremony, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Anatoly Zlenko noted that the book tells about the 85-year period of existence of Ukrainian diplomacy since December 22, 1917, the date of the founding of the General Secretariat of International Affairs. "Thus, one of the book's undeniable values is that it contains archival materials and photo documents confirming the existence of an effective mechanism that underlies the diplomacy of modern Ukraine," the minister stressed.
According to Anatoly Zlenko, the book "contains unknown and even hushed-up pages of the history of national diplomacy of the Ukrainian People's Republic, peacefully coexisting with pages about the activities of Ukrainian diplomats during the USSR, primarily their work at the UN." On behalf of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, the minister thanked Vasily Pilipyuk, president of the publishing house "Svitlo i Tin", for his work on creating the book.
