Simplified visa procedure introduced in Kyrgyzstan

According to the new procedure, visas are issued at diplomatic missions abroad and consular offices in the country for a period of 1 month on the basis of a personal application by a foreign citizen (without invitation letters or other documents confirming the purpose of the citizen's trip). In addition to liberalizing the visa regime, the Kyrgyz government resolution provides for the abolition of registration with internal affairs bodies (the resolution came into force on April 15). The list of 28 states includes the G8 countries, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Monaco, Israel, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, South Korea, Austria, Benelux, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden.
