The tour lasts five days and costs about $5,500, which includes airfare (from the US), meals, accommodation, and “all agreed activities,” including a staged penetration of a “terrorist” into a Jewish settlement. In the Israeli press, this tourism package is called “terrorist tourism” or “explosive vacation.” According to the head of the Gush Etzion tourism association, Yehezkel Klein, it is designed for those who “crave adrenaline.”
When creating the concept of “terrorist tourism,” its authors Jay Greenblatt and Yehoshua Mizrahi, immigrants from the US, drew on the experience of “baseball dream camps” in America, where adults can take a place on the playing field next to professional players, as well as on the experience of extreme tourism in general.
