Germany has the cheapest food products

Prices for some types of food in Germany are twice as low as, for example, in neighboring France. Moreover, we are talking about 140 branded products. This is reported by Deutsche Welle citing the German research center Nielsen + Partner. The reason lies in the tough competition between discount supermarket chains. In the "price war of merchants," the consumer wins, experts note. According to specialists, European manufacturers of branded products have to reckon with the fact that Germans are less picky about food consumption than, for example, the French. And if they do not notice a significant difference in product quality, they will prefer a product from an unknown manufacturer at a lower price.
