«The above types of visas will be issued not only for single entry but also for multiple entries. This measure has been adopted in accordance with the policy of the Czech Republic to support individual and organized tourism and spa treatment, expanding opportunities for personal contacts between citizens of Ukraine and the Czech Republic in line with the priorities of the European Union's Eastern Partnership and as an expression of support for Ukraine's European integration aspirations,» the statement on the website of the Czech embassy says.
A Schengen multiple-entry visa for tourism and medical treatment may be issued provided that the applicant proves or justifies the intention to travel frequently and regularly, or in cases where the applicant proves his or her integrity and reliability, in particular by having used previous Schengen visas in accordance with the rules. The applicant proves his economic situation in the country of origin and the intention to leave the territory of the member states before the expiry of the visa.
When applying for a multiple-entry visa, it is also necessary to prove that in the past the applicant has been issued at least two single-entry Schengen visas or one multiple-entry Schengen visa for 90 days valid for at least one year (copies of these visas must be provided), which he used for their intended purpose. «In this case, it can be assumed that the next multiple-entry visa will also be used for its intended purpose. The validity of such a visa will be one year, the next – two years,» the statement notes.
«We draw attention and ask all applicants to understand that the consular fee for applying for a multiple-entry visa is not increased compared to the application for a single-entry visa. The amount of the consular fee remains unchanged both when applying individually and through an accredited travel agency. The consular department does not charge a higher or additional fee in this case. Also, accredited travel agencies have no reason to charge their clients a higher fee for mediation when applying for a multiple-entry visa than when applying for a single-entry visa,» the Czech embassy emphasizes.
Czech Schengen visas can be obtained at the consular department of the Czech embassy in Kyiv, and at the consulates general in Donetsk and Lviv.
Let us add that on April 18, 2013, the European Parliament gave its consent to the entry into force of the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on simplifying the procedure for issuing visas to Ukrainian citizens. And on May 17, following the meeting of the foreign ministers of Ukraine and the Visegrad Group, which includes Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, a statement was adopted in which the foreign ministers of the 'Visegrad Four' countries, Ireland and Lithuania confirmed their support for the signing of the Association Agreement with Ukraine during the Vilnius Summit of the 'Eastern Partnership'.
