Czech Republic faces shortage of doctors

According to Radio Prague, the average age of doctors in the Czech Republic now reaches 52 years. Heads of medical institutions report that it is extremely difficult to find replacements for retired specialists. Only doctors from Slovakia help out, as salaries for doctors in the Czech Republic are higher.

Hospitals also attract specialists from former Soviet Union countries, but they have to overcome the language barrier and problems with diploma recognition.
