2,000,000 cars not subject to customs clearance – that is how many vehicles with European license plates, according to customs organizations, are currently moving freely across Ukraine. Meanwhile, only 1,000 cars per month use preferential customs clearance services, and these numbers are constantly growing. Importing cars from Europe is gaining popularity.
Where does the flow of cars come from?
A constant flow arrives in Ukraine from the following European countries: Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Lithuania.
The starting cost of services ranges from five hundred to 1,500 dollars. The cost depends on the "customs clearance and transport organization," its competence, and established channels.
According to the new legislation and Euro 5 standard, cars not older than 2010 are subject to customs registration. A certificate is also required confirming that the car was not produced in an aggressor country and indicating the country of manufacture. The sale of such a car is prohibited for one calendar year. One individual has the right to clear only one vehicle per year.
To measure the benefits for the current year 2017, the following criteria are taken into account:
Technical condition of the car; Comparison of cars similar in price and characteristics, or better by model, between Ukraine and Europe; Equipment; Modification of the vehicle.The main criterion for inexpensive used cars remains not the price difference, considering the car itself, customs clearance and transport costs, but the technical condition of the vehicle. Everyone knows the quality of fuel, oils, and road surfaces in Europe, and it is easy to understand that any model, any specimen from Europe will be far superior to its counterpart from Ukraine.
Is driving on uncleared cars allowed?
More and more often we see cars with Lithuanian, German, and Polish license plates. Behind the wheel of these cars are people who chose to turn to professionals of such customs organizations as "ACCORD" and bought themselves a car from the cheap segment, at the same price as from Europe, but focusing on the condition of the car, which will "last" another ten years. Or they decided to buy a brand new car, but significantly benefiting from the price difference, and with that money buy themselves a capital garage or fly to warm countries for more than one year.
