"The most unusual show for me was the Undercover show during Paris Fashion Week. We had to play the roles of twins from Stanley Kubrick's film 'The Shining'. In the finale of the show, five pairs of twin girls participated, the sixth pair was me and a model from Russia. To look alike, my hair was tinted, and my partner had hair extensions. We were put in blue dresses with red spots resembling blood. The runway was lit by one small red spotlight, we walked to frightening music, holding each other's hands," Tarusova said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.
Since 2015, the Ukrainian model has been shooting videos for her own YouTube channel, where she openly talks about her work: injuries and fears of models, difficulties during castings and constant flights.
Last fall, Tasha Tarusova went to Hamburg to find a modeling agency in Germany on her own. After castings in six companies, the girl signed a contract with the agency M4. The video with the story about her search in Germany became one of the most popular on her channel.
At the recent Berlin Fashion Week, the Ukrainian model participated in the show of German designer Irene Luft. "I really enjoyed working in Germany. The market is interesting in its own way and at the same time simple. Clients are nice and pleasant. I really like Germans, so I quickly find common ground with them, although we often communicate in English. Basically, in Germany they love models with curves, beautiful girls with big eyes and full lips.
German castings, unlike French ones, are easy and relaxed: they always offer coffee or tea, no one is in a hurry, and they listen to you with great interest. At fashion week, it was a bit boring in terms of work: I'm used to going through 15 castings a day and participating in several shows. And in Berlin, there are fewer designers and shows than in Milan, London or Paris," Tarusova believes.
Because of her modeling career, after the ninth grade, Tarusova was forced to transfer from school to college, where she received an education as a pastry chef. Now she is in her third year of the Faculty of Journalism. "The modeling business is a great opportunity to learn the culture of a country, a new language, try different national dishes, find friends, constantly develop and become more confident. This is a difficult and long path, you must be ready to constantly step out of your comfort zone."
The Ukrainian model alternates work in Asia and Europe and does not plan to stay in a particular country. In Asia, she is attracted by the opportunity to earn money, and in Europe, by career growth. When asked which show she would like to participate in, the twenty-year-old model does not name specific designers: "Every model has her own dreams and desires. My goal is to always be in demand."
