The ministry clarified that «this applies to persons who have previously had at least two Schengen visas for tourist purposes (including one Polish visa), which they used lawfully and have confirmation of payment for a tourist service in Poland for at least 3 days.»
The Polish Foreign Ministry also reported that during the meeting of mutual consular consultations, the parties discussed the functioning of the local border traffic (LBT) zone with Ukraine, which has been in effect since the summer of 2008 and within which Ukrainians can visit Poland without visas.
«We assess the results of the introduction of local border traffic positively, as cases of violations are very rare. Therefore, the Polish side sees no reason not to plan the expansion of the LBT zone,» the statement said.
At the same time, according to UNIAN, the Polish side noted that expanding the zone to 50+ km from the current 30+ km would require the consent of the European Union and «this will not be a simple process.»
