As reported by Ukrainian Foreign Minister Anatoliy Zlenko, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a draft law with corresponding amendments to the law 'On the Procedure for Exit from and Entry into Ukraine by Citizens of Ukraine'. He explained that adopting such amendments would avoid dead-end situations when Ukrainian citizens' passports expire and they cannot travel to Ukraine to exchange them.
As Anatoliy Zlenko said, granting foreign diplomatic missions the opportunity to issue passports will allow Ukrainian citizens who are abroad for a long time on business, work, study, or medical treatment not to travel to Ukraine to obtain a new passport. He added that the proposed amendments would allow passports to be issued to minor citizens of Ukraine, as many countries require such documents.
