View from the office window of Prague interests many foreign entrepreneurs
According to an analysis conducted by the Bisnode agency, Russian citizens among buyers of ready-made Czech companies were only in fifth place, having acquired 6% of Czech firms in 2017 out of the total number of enterprises sold to foreigners.
Commenting on the market situation, analyst of the agency Petra Štěpánová states: "These are countries geographically close to the Czech Republic, having historical and economic ties with our country."
More than half of the Czech companies that passed to foreign owners were founded less than three years ago. The study shows that last year 112 more firms were sold than in 2016.
"These are mainly so-called ready-made companies, that is, firms that have never conducted commercial activity and were established for the purpose of further sale," reports Petra Štěpánová, who reminds that precisely such an acquisition of a ready-made company remains the fastest and easiest way to start your business in the Czech Republic literally within 24 hours. "This is proven by the fact that the address of more than 70% of Czech companies sold to foreign entrepreneurs was registered in Prague," adds the analyst.
As noted by Radio Prague, over the past four years, about 3,500 Czech companies annually pass into the ownership of foreign entrepreneurs.
