But it is still better to prefer what was originally designed for match fishing. An increased gear ratio and several spare shallow spools are the main difference for such designs.
This is because feeder rigs use quite thin line. It will sink between the already wound coils if a deep spool is used. The reel must be of high quality and reliable, since fishing is carried out in rather harsh conditions. This mainly concerns a fairly fast pace.
