Tours to Verona – love, romance, dream!

Juliet can still be met in the cozy Veronese courtyard

Planning excursions to Italy from Germany, be sure to include in your plan a visit to the charming little town of Verona. Verona is a small town in the Italian province, located approximately a hundred kilometers from Venice. However, if you compare the number of tourists visiting Verona with Venice, there is clear rivalry.

The secret of such popularity is quite transparent – it was here that the prototypes of Shakespeare's famous characters lived, loved, and suffered. More than one landmark of Verona is associated with the names of Romeo and Juliet. First of all, these are the houses that belonged to the Montague (Monticoli) and Capulet (Capello) families. In the area of Via Arche Scaligere, there is a somewhat dilapidated palace that is considered to be Romeo's House («Casa di Romeo»). It can only be viewed from the outside, as it is now private property.

This gap can be filled by visiting Juliet's House («Casa di Giulietta»). It has been carefully restored and is open to visitors. The entrance to the palace is marked by a marble figure in the shape of a hat, which is the family coat of arms of the Cappello family (in Italian, cappello means hat).

It is worth booking tours to Italy just to be near the statue of Juliet. It is believed that touching her chest guarantees you luck in love. The interior of the house itself has remained unchanged, in the style of the 14th century. In the inner courtyard of the house there is a small garden, and the famous balcony of the lovers also overlooks it. Even tours to Paris cannot compare with the feelings that tourists get from visiting this place.

Every year on September 16, the birthday of the most beautiful Juliet is celebrated in the beautiful palace on Via Capello. Setting aside their affairs and worries, couples in love strive to come to Verona and perform a wedding ceremony under the ancient arches of the house. Medieval music, a special atmosphere, costumes from the time of Romeo and Juliet, a marriage certificate on ancient parchment – isn't this the dream for which it is worth visiting romantic Verona!
