Tourism as a Call of the Soul

Tourism as a Call of the Soul

For a person, it is very important that the golden proportion between desires and possibilities is not violated. After all, many of a person's problems lie in the disharmony of the desired and the actual.

Lovers of a Quiet Vacation

These people are attracted by the sun, a seaside vacation and sand. Such people run away from problems and fatigue to the ends of the earth to close their eyes, turn their face to the warm breeze, and surrender to the calm waves of the sea. They are not looking for extreme - they have enough extreme feelings at work. For them, the word 'tourism' means one thing - a summer trip to the sea. Of course, if we analyze the motivation of these people, we can highlight the following points:

physical motivation: rest without extra problems;
psychological motivation: these are either pleasure seekers - high quality vacation ('I worked hard, now I will rest like a king'), or family tourists, or fully relaxing - for them it doesn't matter how to rest, as long as they rest.

Pleasure Seekers

They are far from home, can afford light flirting, without commitment, without problems. The beautiful and easy life here, on vacation, is just an attempt to break the stereotype, to justify to themselves for having to stay within the bounds imposed by their circle of friends, parents, themselves under the pressure of public opinion, after all.

physical motivation: relaxation, freedom of action;
psychological motivation: new impressions, new behavior, no obligations;
interpersonal motivation: oddly enough, they are mostly drawn to strong, free personalities who sometimes suppress, but for them a change of scenery and a change of boundaries is important; sometimes these are people who reveal the strength of their personality and capabilities only far from familiar surroundings – 'If I mess up, no one here knows me anyway.'

Lovers of Active Recreation

These are people who are always in motion, or want to appear so. For them, it is important not just to go to the sea, but also to see the moon path from a bird's eye view, or the morning fog from the mountain top. They will take part in a festival if they go to see it; if they have learned about a new sport - they will go to its homeland and try it…

physical motivation: shake up the body, make it work at full capacity, get new impressions;
psychological motivation: lack of emotions in everyday life, routine work, hobbies and interests, desire to tell after the trip that you didn't just lie on the beach;
prestige and status motivation: some people believe that active recreation is a more fashionable activity than quiet vacation, formation of prestigious clubs for active recreation enthusiasts, promotion and advertising of active recreation in the media.

Vacationers with the Purpose of Learning, Study

Tourists belonging to this group can be divided into those who use guidebooks; those for whom their own atmosphere is important; those who are interested in nature and have certain social-scientific interests.

In this group, all types of motivations can be found: physical, psychological, interpersonal, cultural, prestige and status, labor relations.

If we divide tourists according to lifestyle, we can distinguish pleasure seekers - those for whom high quality of rest is important; tendentious tourists - for them rest is an opportunity to find and express themselves as individuals; fully resting; family tourists - families with children, by the way, many have now started talking about children's tourism as promising in all respects.
