If you are interested in the unique spiritual heritage of the region, then it is better to visit the small town of Pochayiv. The town, located on the northern side of the Ternopil region, gained its fame because it is here that one of the oldest monasteries of Ukraine is located. For many centuries, the Pochayiv Lavra has been calling believers with the ringing of its bells and is visited by pilgrims from different parts of the world. Another place of pilgrimage and, at the same time, one of the bright attractions is located 30 km from the monastery in the Medobory nature reserve. This is a source of pure water, named after Saint Anna, the mother of the Virgin Mary. The water in the lake next to the source is always warm. People swim here year-round in the hope of getting rid of diseases. According to legends, the water of the Saint Anna spring especially helps those who want to conceive a child. The trees along the road leading to the spring are beautifully decorated with thousands of ribbons, which people traditionally tie while making wishes.
