According to the data provided, during the same period, citizens transferred 228.9 million US dollars in equivalent outside Ukraine. The volume of transfers within Ukraine amounted to 33.870 billion hryvnias.

As Vesti previously reported, remittances in foreign currency from abroad exceeding 150,000 hryvnias in Ukraine will be required to be exchanged for hryvnias. The corresponding resolution of the National Bank is to come into force on August 3. As economist Alexander Okhrimenko explained, thus the NBU is trying to introduce restrictions on cash and support the national currency. "If the amount is less than 150,000, you can receive the money in foreign currency. If the amount is higher, the bank is obliged to give you the entire amount in hryvnias. The commission depends on the specific bank," the expert said.
