Extreme Tourism Insurance

Insurance for a real extreme tour will cost much more than a regular trip

It is no accident that the cost of extreme tourism insurance is almost twice that of ordinary tourism. After all, the risk of injury for a person moving in the mountains on a mountain bike is much higher than for someone who goes to the same mountains by cable car. Since besides injuries, an extreme tourist may face many other troubles as a result of which he cannot handle the situation on his own (especially often such situations occur in the mountains), he will have to seek help.

Any assistance to an extreme tourist involves large material costs, such as evacuation of the tourist by helicopter, so travel insurance must cover them. Moreover, the injuries and traumas sustained in such cases are usually so serious that ordinary medical insurance cannot cover them. If for a tourist who wants to visit old Europe or the United States of America and does not want to risk his life and health, it will be enough to purchase a regular policy, then this cannot be said about those who dream of hot countries.

First, the warmer the climate, the better not only a Russian yearning for warmth feels, but also many different insects, whose bites do not add to our health. Second, besides insects, in hot countries there is a huge number of harmful microorganisms that dream of settling in the still healthy body of a Russian tourist. Third, in most of these countries there is terrible unsanitary conditions, and it is very easy to catch some infection there.

Therefore, when traveling to countries such as Madagascar, India, Bali, and many, many others, it is necessary to make sure that you get all the necessary vaccinations. Of course, you can skip them, especially since upon entering these countries no one will require a medical certificate of vaccinations. But since no medical insurance covers the risks of staying in the tropics, refusal of vaccinations can be fatal for a tourist.
