First, sports equipment is in great demand. Today, fitness for men in hotels rarely involves comprehensive long-term programs or work with a personal trainer – that will have to be done at home. However, sports clubs, gyms, and fitness rooms (or at least one of them) are available in almost every hotel of a decent level.
Entertainment programs using sports equipment are also in demand. Rental of bicycles, water 'transport' vehicles, skis, and snowboards is popular.
Some hotels (mainly those catering to tourists) also classify discos and dance floors as sports. Various sports facilities are being installed more often – mini-football, volleyball, and basketball fields. For example, such a service can be found at Limak Arcadia, designated by its owners as Golf & Sport Resort (5 stars).
Number four on the list of hotel 'sports' activities is the sauna and bathhouse. Almost every hotel that opens a fitness center considers adding the prefix 'SPA' to its name. In addition, they offer a sauna or bathhouse, Finnish or Turkish steam rooms, and massage programs.
Water sports are in demand. And today, that encompasses a whole range of sports entertainment, from the simple 'banana boat' to full-fledged sports – surfing, water skiing, and even rafting on simple and difficult routes in boats, canoe trips.
And of course, in high-end hotels, darts, table tennis, and several types of tennis courts (often with special surfaces and on-site equipment rental) are in demand.
Exquisite entertainment is also not uncommon today. Billiards and paintball, horseback riding and swimming pools, facilities for various activities and games can be found at InterContinental Hotels, Holiday Inn, and other chain hotels. And at Crowne Plaza, there are almost always yoga centers and golf courses, polo lessons, and other sports and entertainment programs and events.
