Create your own last-minute tour

Just a few hours of flight – and you are already 'saving' the Leaning Tower of Pisa

So why not create your own last-minute tour – why not look for places where brand new hotels are opening, attracting tourists with far from sky-high room prices, new entertainment centers or free trade zones – for shopping lovers? That's what we'll do.

To figure out how and when we will go, we can be helped by, for example, aviasales – tickets here can always be found, regardless of the season and time of year. But where to go is another question. We'll have to work hard: after all, we have to find places where we will be welcomed at a 'very cheap' price. And they exist, as practice shows.

Let us be interested in the same Eastern Europe – nothing is simpler than looking at thematic resources, writing a couple of emails, and ultimately getting information about where and when hotels are not suffering from an influx of tourists. Then it's a matter of technique: find air tickets, board the plane (having first checked whether you owe the state or some bank a fine or a loan respectively). And – descend the gangway in another country, knowing that a warm welcome awaits you for a ridiculous sum.

Moreover, you can find a profitable offer from a hotel even in the height of the season. So what if the Balkans are currently at the peak of tourist influx? Many people simply ignore Lake Skadar, for example. But in beauty it can compete with both Lake Baikal and Lake Geneva, not to mention the unique flora and fauna of this pearl of the Balkans.

Of course, independent travel is only possible to a country that has no visa regime with Russia and where you can communicate with locals without an interpreter. That is – to Europe, a number of countries in South America, some states of the East. But even that will be quite enough to make your eyes wide with the breadth of choice. Especially since tourism is developing very actively in the listed regions – which means that many new hotels are being built that attract tourists with inexpensive rooms.
