One of the most magical gatherings of its kind took place in Ireland. Several thousand people dressed in red costumes were setting a Guinness Book record for the largest gathering of Santas in one place. Adults, children, and even dogs in red caps flooded not only the central square but also the alleys of the city of Derry. They paraded through the ancient streets with songs and dances. Some were so impressed by the event that they even proposed renaming the town to Santa City.
Similar events take place in many countries before Christmas and the New Year and have different names. For example, in the Polish town of Szymbark, a convention of local Father Frosts was held. Hundreds of Santa Clauses took over the center of New York: all were participants in the grand festival 'SantaCon', in which any city resident dressed in a suitable costume could take part.
Meanwhile, being a real Santa Claus - a kind uncle with a white beard and a huge belly - is not easy at all in the USA. American dietitians have concluded that such an image negatively affects the country's citizens, many of whom are struggling with obesity to the best of their ability. And in general, Santa Claus does not conform to a healthy lifestyle, so, by doctors' decision, many 'grandpas' will have to lose weight. So the management of a British shopping center has already sent its Santa Clauses to a training base, where they will undergo a special weight loss course for a month.
But in Britain, no claims are made against snow grandpas at all. Moreover, English women have achieved the right to act as a New Year's wizard in a red cap. Many of them did not fail to take advantage of this at the annual charity Santa Claus run in a small town in the county of Wales, where 'gray-haired elders' from all over Britain gathered. Women dressed as Santa ran the marathon alongside men to help sick children. The lovely ladies called themselves Santina Claus and claimed to have achieved gender equality. Now - magical equality too. It is immediately obvious that British subjects are not familiar with our New Year traditions. After all, not a single Russian woman would think of fighting for the right to be Father Frost.
However, not only distant overseas Santa Clauses delight fellow citizens with a beautiful spectacle and gather in crowds in one territory. Recently, Russia also distinguished itself - it held an all-Russian congress of Father Frosts and Snow Maidens. Moreover, a separate congress of Snow Maidens has recently concluded there. Sixteen beauties from eleven regions demonstrated their creative and artistic abilities, intelligence and talent for communicating with various audiences, charm, allure, and femininity of the image.
