The photos were taken from the top of the BT Tower, located in central London on the northern bank of the River Thames. Thanks to this, the panorama shows most of the city's landmarks, such as Big Ben, the Palace of Westminster, and the famous power station that appeared on the cover of a Pink Floyd album. However, some well-known buildings, such as the Tower, are hidden by other structures or are not visible due to thick fog.
The high resolution of the panorama allows you to see many small details, down to the flowers in flowerbeds near the tower or fallen leaves on a football field. Many site visitors have already taken advantage of this, finding in the photo, for example, a bathtub on the roof of a building and a person in a chicken costume.
The creators of the panorama noted that if you print the photo on paper, the resulting image would be 98 meters long and 24 meters high. As the authors noted, this is larger than Buckingham Palace, which is also visible in the panorama.
According to Lenta.ru, the panorama made by British Telecom became the largest photo of London in history. The previous record was set in 2010, when an 80-megapixel panorama of London was taken from the roof of the Centre Point skyscraper.
