The top three compared to last year have not changed. The top ten includes three cities each from Australia and Canada.
Among the factors assessed by experts to determine the level of living comfort in each of the 140 cities were the healthcare system, stability, ecology, culture, education system, and infrastructure development.
The most impressive progress over the past year was made by Iceland's capital Reykjavik, which rose 13 positions (from 50th to 37th place). This significant leap is believed to be linked to the development of tourism and the city authorities' initiated modernization of the city. Conversely, Manchester and Stockholm lost positions in the ranking after terrorist attacks.
As noted by the portal Vinegret.cz, Prague, as a year ago, ended up in 59th place. Moscow took 80th place, Kyiv 131st. The least livable cities were recognized as Tripoli, Lagos, and Damascus.
