World's Most Expensive Shopping Streets

The title of the world's most expensive shopping street went to New York's Fifth Avenue. To trade here, a tenant will have to pay more than $15,000 per year per square meter of retail space. The second place in terms of "costliness" of retail space is taken by Causeway Bay in Hong Kong. Per year, one square meter of retail space here will cost $12,000. Third place goes to Paris. The cost of retail space on Avenue des Champs-Elysees exceeds $9,200 per year.

Next comes London, where on New Bond Street the rent of a retail "square" exceeds $8,100 per year, followed by Tokyo's main shopping point, Ginza District, with a rate of $6,800 per year, and Dublin, where on Grafton Street the right to trade will cost $6,600 per year.

Also included in the list are Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich, Pitt Street Mall in Melbourne, Australia, Ermou Street in Athens. Closing the "top ten" is Gangnam Station in Seoul. In this entertainment and business center of the city, the rent of a "square" exceeds $4,300 per year.

As Lenta.ru notes, Moscow was not included in the Forbes ranking. At the same time, in a Colliers International study published in May, Russia closes the top three countries with the highest rent rates, where on Tverskaya Street in the Russian capital, rent rates exceed $16,000 per square meter per year. The study does not dispute the primacy of Fifth Avenue. According to Colliers, the retail square cost here exceeds $18,000 per meter.
